You had better ask my wife.
She is a woman, and what is
in her heart is on her tongue.
She will tell you the whole truth.

I wait and wait for summer to arrive...not too patiently either.
Winter hears me whining and I fussing and carrying on about being cold. Im a whimp and Im spoiled- for I hate being cold. I LOVE my desert heat!! I really dont thaw out until it reaches the 80' here!!
I have this lovely home, full of nice things, here in the desert. And one of the really swanky things is a tiny plastic box on the wall. And in ways that I cant fully comprehend, this little box regulates the temptures in my very own home!! NOTE... my very own home!!!! Im just ask'in....
WHo should have power over this little ingenious box on the wall??!!
Soup the turtle...who eats BBQ hamburger meat for breakfast?
Zoey the dog...who wears a fur coat without complaint...all year long??!!
Fussy kids...who dont pay the bills??!!
Obnoxious kids...who dont even live here??!!
How about the person who is most likely to keep the read-out on that box at the highest, most economicical setting of all??!! THIS WOULD BE MoowAH!!!
Its a constant battle of wills in our home!!
And to add insult to injury....in my very own home I am accused of being demented or sick for my thermaticly challenge(is there such a word?) self. VERY often Im forced into my room so that I can put on more layers (just like in winter) so that Im not freezing in my very own home!! Im mocked and reviled in my very own home!!
So Im a little resentful.
Can you tell??
I'd like some control back please.
and while im on the topic of Arctic environments...
Let me tell you about going out to dinner with my Builder...
There are restaurants and stores that I now completely avoid due to sub-Arctic temperatures inside. Over the years I've learned the places to avoid and the places where it may be worth 'dressing up' with layers and a sweater in order to patronize the place. My favorite places to go are those that have outdoor seating...thats where I am blissfully happy to be.
Happiness is....leaving an establishment through the front doors and greeting a blast of hot air!!!
After a very long, cold winter, i was so looking forward to our summer. But as is with all good things, there always seems to be a down side too. I guess i'll have to more firmly embrace the doctrine we're taught ever since we fledgeling church goers could attend and listen...there does seem to have to be opposition in ALL things!! Even when it comes to temperature variations and thermostat control!
If you're wondering....
That'll be me in the sweatshirt and woolly socks, sitting in my very own home!!! IN JULY!!!
Ba Humbug!!!

I'm glad we can just keep our temp at 78 here at our house without any fuss!
I guess this summer when everyone's gone you'll get to have it as hot at Bob will let you...or just spend a lot of time outside..which is what I WISH I could do, but it's just yucky out there to me! I was in heaven in the 60 degree weather up north! :)
you know, soon you will be able to keep that thermo at whatever setting you want, pretty much, b/c none of us will be here to attack you.
i just plug up my old fan and sit in front of it. as long as i have that, i'm "cool."
:O)
Like I told my brothers-in-law years ago when we first moved to Mesa and they were trying to convince me that the heat wasn't so bad- You can only take off so much clothing... I love wearing sweaters and jackets and there's always long underwear! You need to come spend the summer with me!!
