Look at that sea girls...all
silver and shadows and vision
of things not seen. We couldnt
enjoy its loveliness any more
if we had millions of dollars
and ropes of diamonds.

It has to be the mornings!!!
Mornings are really good for me. Even when Im stumbling out of bed, before the sun rises, and setting my sites on auto-pilot as I drive to "work".... I love seeing the bright smiling faces of fellow hiking guides, as we wait for instruction for that mornings hike. We're a diverse group of people-we hiking nuts. We are old and young, fit and grateful too.
We enjoy reporting the previous days adventures and escapades and then speculating on what the morning will bring us with a new batch of guests. We watch the sunrise from the windows of our vans as we drive to our various hikes, and try and build a sense of anticipation for the upcoming trek. Then we hike!! ya, ya, giddy-up folks!!!
The world is a glorious place when you hike.
Yep....mornings are the BEST!!!
BUt wait!!!
I forget about Lunch TIme!!
THere's food and little relaxing...sometimes a lot of relaxing and even a nap!!! There's often some serious chill'in going on out back by the pool...reading, sunning my legs, contemplating my navel for a moment. Our backyard is full of wondrous fragrances-honeysuckle, jasmine, mint, pool chlorine, sunblock, etc, etc... There was a time when I could be found in the pool, floating my big bottom in an ugly black inner-tube and reading a book! Those days are gone....wrinkles on my face make it glaringly apparent that I had better quit this adolescent behavior...NOW!!
Ahhhhh....yes, lunch time is the grandest!!!
Dang!!!
What about that time right as the sun is going down!!???
The yard is shady and inviting. Its cooled down a very small increment, and dinner is done. I am anticipating my head hitting my pillow. (remember, my day starts at 5:15am!) I love that I sleep so well. Its a blessing I know. So....at dusk...I wander the perimeter of our property and watch Zoey chase a few last shadows. I take in the pleasant sound of our silly little fountain/pond in the back yard and wonder why the toad has stopped ribbiting????
It doesnt get any better than this does it???
OH HeCK.....!!!!
I almost forgot dinner time!!!
Dinner is at its very best when its done at the water park in town. All the little kids are there, cooling their toes and having a delightful time. We know its one of L's favorite places to hang. Dinner in the park with the grandkids is the best!! The kids romp and we stretch out on the blanket thrown out on a shady spot of lawn....ahhhhhhhhhh.....now thats a good time!!!
What's your favorite time of day!!
Mine is anytime......as long as its SUMMER!!!
