Stephenson Family Ties The Barn Burnt Down
And Now I See The Moon

AN EVENING AT THE FAIR

So, you take a young kid to the fair and you have some grown-up expectations. We were excited to show 'L' the farm animals. The pigs and the cows and bunnies and chickens etc. As we neared the barns, he spotted the tractors!! It was all over. Tractors are what turns this kid on!! Vroooom, vrooom!!! When we finally did get near some livestock....he whimpered a bit as the bulls calves began to carry on with their bellowing. L wanted nothing of it.
More expectations?? That he'd enjoy the horses doing the 4H thing. NOT!!
How about some kiddie rides? (not pictured) No way jose'
Its hard to describe the look in his eyes with all this commotion. Awe, wonder, fear, uncertainty. He was a brave one at times. He had to check out the arcade. So many huge stuffed animals. So many sounds and lights and textures and smells. He was quiet most of the night, as he contemplated his surroundings. It was fun to watch him watching.
And then he consented to a ride on the merry-go-round!! whoopeee!!
The nice man at the ticket counter, let grandma go too!!
He didnt mind ham'in it up for the camera either!!

All in all it was a delightful night. Im grateful that L's parents are so willing to share their little guy with us.
What I Know: Next year we wont be able to hold him back!!! Watch out Washington County Fair hands!!!!!! Watch out mom and dad, you life of carefree outings are quickly coming to a close.
