Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them out of their distresses.
Psalms 107:6
I'm now wondering...
just 'cause I want to make a covenant with my all Omnipotent Heavenly Father....this may not mean that HE will want to make the covenant with me....on this particular issue. Is that not so? What do you know about this?
As I delved in to this a little deeper...this is what I found:
the Bible dictionary states-
" the gospel is so arranged that principles and ordinances are received by covenant placing the recipient under strong obligation and responsibility to honor the commitment. Thus the severe consequences to Ananias and Sapphira, when a covenant.was broken...
...it is important to notice that the two parties to the agreement do not stand in the relation of independent and equal contractors. God in his good pleasure fixes the terms, which man accepts."
I guess I have no right to fix the terms of the deal. (dang)
But I wont be deterred.
Im just going to have to call my "promise" by a different name.
Im just looking for added strength...for covenants make one stronger..which I guess is obvious if God is part of the equation.
And just how am I doing you may wonder?!
*sat in a board room with everyone popping the tops of their soda cans... no thank you.
*several times a day I drive by my favored tri-mart, where the boys behind the counter know me by my refill cup....driving on by!!
*dinner out...with only ice water plate side.
*sunflower seeds without....
*103 degrees!!
3 days and all is well.
No headache!! Truly Im blessed!!
