That is not the best sermon which makes the hearer
go away talking to one another, and praising the
speaker, but which makes them go away thoughtful
and serious, and hastening to be alone.

A visit to the Temple and that strange movie I watched a week ago has got me to wondering:
Where is the Tree of Life is?
Anyone wonder why there is no speculation of its whereabouts?
Where is that cherubim and the flaming sword?
Mormon discourses are quiet on the subject. There's a void there.
In a way Im surprised some adventurer hasnt stumbled upon the Tree...
But I suppose that God has hidden it from our view.
Its easy to imagine what complete chaos would break out between the inhabitants of the world if there suddenly became a way to live forever.
Would you want to live forever?
I'd be happy to slow down the aging process...
We know these things are within Gods power...
John the Revelator is still walking the planet with us.
Is he enjoying himself, or does he cry into his pillow every night due to all the pain and sorrow he sees?
Do we want to live forever...because we are afraid of dying?
Im not afraid.
I do anticipate being very sad at leaving my loved ones behind.
Would finding the Tree of Life eliminate sickness and pain?
Would what it holds within its branches eliminate stress and " commotion?"
Would it cause us to slow down and smell more roses?
Would we be more careless and fearless?
This is random, pointless speculation I suppose. For its not in Gods plan for us to "live forever in our sins." (thank heavens)
Besides, we are indeed living longer...geriatrics is a booming business!
I dont think we're making very good use of our extended time here on earth...for the most part. I dont see things improving much as far as taking care of one another and improving our condition. It feels like things are worsening really.
Thank heavens God is in control.
But it was fun wondering...
what if..........

Sis,
I've pondered the same thing - sort of. I am struck by the wording...without being specific, I think it is something like, let the cherubim and flaming sword protect the way of the tree of life...and using the word 'way' fascinates me. It is sort of how they call each labor (you know, like creating animals) a 'day.' Maybe the tree of life is not hidden - it is there for us if only we can find the 'way.' About 1/3 of the world's population call that 'enlightenment.'
love you, your bro.
