Stephenson Family Ties The Barn Burnt Down
And Now I See The Moon
Come clean with a child heart
Laugh as peaches in the summer wind
Let rain on a house roof be a song
Let the writing on your face
be a smell of apple orchards on late June

I've had this book on my bookshelf since Anna was a wee one! And until this week...it only gathered dust and yellowed its pages, just like the valley in which the heroine of this tale settled in with her folks.
Its a delightful story about a young girl who wants nothing more than to settle down in one place for a good length of time. She wants a real home and to go to school and to have real friends. Her one treasured possession is a blue willow plate that was her great grandmothers. This story takes place in the 30's and describes well the life of a family who's father picks cotton and barely gets by. It was a good, easy read. four stars for me!! Juvenile fiction
