News Flash!!!
Im sure that the cosmos can now hear my audible sigh of relief!!! Im sure of it!!!
My Builder answered the phone this afternoon-to hear the wonderful sound of Brian's voice (Elder Stephenson)on the line. Normally, to receive a phone call from the MTC is not a good thing. It usually means that something is wrong....but not this time...
we have been prepared for this call. I have been praying for this call. When one of my chicks is suffering...truly suffering...then mommy suffers as well. Its been the longest of months for us here...and its been hard imagining how LONG it's been feeling for Bri!!!
Brian his been giving Spanish a valiant shot. It just wouldnt click for him. And though the gift of tongues alluded him...the gift of teaching came to him hard and strong!! Spanish was killing him and killing his spirit.
So after much praying and fasting and meeting with the powers that be...Elder Brian's call has been changed!!!
Tomorrow night he gets on a plane and flies to Ventura California!!! There he will begin immediately to teach the principals of the Gospel that are now near and dear to his heart. Im think'in he'll find Ventura, CA. every bit as much of an adventure as Chile!! What do you think??!!
We just pray he knows- down to his toes- how proud we are of him. For we now know he's not a quitter!!! A quitter would have thrown up his arms in despair, thinking to himself that, "They (God) got it wrong..so Im going home to lick my wounds and get on with my real life." He on the other hand toughed it out and chose the better path..."let me serve where I can teach right out of the shoot. Let me not worry so much about the language."
Bless our Boy!!!
May he know how very proud we are of him and for making this difficult decision to change. It just feels right. He sounds so good and at peace and anxious to get started.
Whew!!! What a month!!!

And a big AMEN to everything you said!! I'm so excited for him!! We'll be looking forward to his letters and know he'll be a blessing to that area of the vineyard.
Yes! This is a tender mercy of the best kind. Give him our best, too.
I love that boy...he is going to do sooooo good there! So proud of him!
I think it would be quite exciting to think about just getting out there and teaching the gospel without struggling with the language too. Wonderful news for him.
Hooray - big sigh of relief all around! So happy to know that the powers that be were inspired and prayerful and considerate of Brian and his individual talents and struggles. I think he will do AWESOME in Ventura! You can sleep tonight Mom!
This is great news! We are so proud of Brian wherever he serves!!!! He'll do a great job in Ventura California! Now, Lachlan can draw him pictures and they won't take months to get to him! :)
I am so happy for you.
I felt your anguish over this and now the perfect solution was found.
It truly is Heavenly Father's Plan:)
