Todays hike was full of surprises and treats and noxious weeds. This morning we learned more about Anasazi petrogyphs and what pointy fingers and toes on 'Birdman' pointing down to the earth may mean. We leaned a little more about conglomerate rock and enjoyed beautiful samples of them along the cliffs as we scrambled down.
We saw a deer, where one would not expect to see one....hopping through the foxtails ahead of us as we grumbled about all the nasty's we collected in our shoes and socks and sandals.
We hiked along a running river and enjoyed the sounds this adds to the desert experience.
All in all it was a delightful morning...no better spent than what we did. PLUS....it was 20 degrees cooler than normal too!!!
AHH....life is good!!!
