"Grandma, how old is she?"
"Oh I dont know," grandma said.
"You'd have to cut off her head
and count the rings in her neck."

See that rocky peak
WAY in the distance? That would be Gardners Peak. That would be where we headed for my birthday hike yesterday.

It was a climb. A real climb. 2 1/2 miles straight up....well....I guess the switchbacks were the lifesaver.

The sky was brilliant blue, the rocks were magical and unusual. The temps were delightful. The company was great!!

Hoodoos abounded at the top.

Its all about the contrasts!!!

Lunch time!!!

Thats the beautiful town of Pine Valley down there!!! What a view!! So worth the grueling journey!!!
OLD MiMi of the mountain!!!

Question of the Day: can you guess what this is? I blew it by not putting my hand in the frame so that there was a better perspective. This white mass is larger than a loaf of bread. And it grew there in the dirt, in the shade, on the path. Its a mushroom of some type!!! Go figure!!! Any ideas???

The wind rushing through these tress...the kids thought it sounded like a waterfall!! Oh what glorious trees!!

Another great morning in Southern Utah!!
