"Dont scared, Mama," Jenny patted the
top of her mother's head and hugged it.
To communicate in words this precious
moment when her child first showed
empathy would be as futile as trying
to know the golden sunset by hearsay
rather than experiencing it first
hand, for there is a great chasm
between words and experience.

Happy Birthday Son!!
but....
what shall we say about his mothers hair!!!?
Why didnt someone tell me!!!!?
And yes I know...
today is not about me.
But...WHY DIDN"T SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING!!!?
I am grateful that somehow, over the years, I've gained a measure of self-esteem, thank heavens, and can now bring myself to post such a ghastly picture. And...laugh at myself.
But...
yes.... I know....
THis is supposed to be about that darling baby boy in our arms...
May you have your fathers genes, and see that you'll hardly change a bit through the coming years!!
We love you so much son!!

Send Rob our Happy Birthdays as well!
And no one told you because we ALL looked just like you (well, I had a "fro" and HUGE glasses, and that's another really sad picture) - and you looked great! You actually look like you could be my cousin Ranelle's twin (but she hasn't changed her hairstyle!!!). Just laugh along with the kids, who at least at my house think it's a riot to look at the "old" pictures of Mom and Dad!
Oh, and by the way, you had just had 9 months of puking your guts out hadn't you? You looked FANTASTIC!
Your and Anna are so alike! beautiful!
Happy Birthday, Robby! What a cute baby he was and what a great MAN he IS!
Now, about your hair...I recognize that look in my own pictures! So, listen to your friend--you looked fantastic for just enduring your first pregnancy and childbirth!
Happy Bday Robbie! The Christmas birthday peeps HAVE to stick together!
Cindy - bad hair is a rite of passage. In ten years, we'll probably all look back and be like, "Really?"
:O)
I've been going through old slides and organizing them and it is a real trip to see the old pictures of everyone. We are all so much better looking now, right?? (or at least the hairstyles are better, right??)
