Stephenson Family Ties The Barn Burnt Down
And Now I See The Moon
There was clearly nothing to do but
flop down on the shabby little couch
and howl. So Della did it. Which
instigates the moral reflection that
life is made up of sobs, sniffles, and
smiles, with sniffles predominating.

Some people dont deserve pets.

Though I know I have been blessed with many, many things, most of which cause me to wonder at my good fortune...
I feel cursed and blighted when it comes to pet ownership.
A heart can break only so many times before it becomes wary and tired.

Doobie is missing AGAIN!!
And it's truly a mystery as to how he escaped this time.

So...
next time you hear me get whimsical about wanting a furry or scaly companion....
STOP ME!!!
REMIND ME!!

Bring me to a full remembrance of what this day feels like.
Refresh my memory--
remind me of when our horse died of colic
or when Baxter died of old age,
or how several sweet dogs met their demise due to unforgiving tire treads.

Im really sad.
Im tired and feeling depressed.
Im worried.
Doobie needs to be warm this time of the year.
I was planning on bringing him indoors tonight.
The temps are too low for my reptile. If I shiver...he REALLY shivers, if tortoises shiver???

Thank heaven Anna and Lynley have Zoey!!

i'm so sorry! how did he go missing? i mean did he escape his enclosure or was he out of sight for just a moment?

maybe he will return to where the grass is greener (across the street) and you will find him again.

we'll be positive. he'll probably turn up.

:O)

lynley, Thanks so much for the good, positive thoughts. Im not as hopeful this time though. Its just too cold out there now. Especially at night. I dont think he'll fair very well. I had him in his big blue plastic encloser, in the sun, warming him up, and went inside for a moment...came back out to discover that the 'pool' had flipped over!!! How this happened I'll never understand...the wind couldnt have blown that hard!!!?? Anyway...he heads for the road whenever he can...we'll see.

If it's really cold he has burrowed down in a soft spot of dirt or grass. That's what they do! Look around for a mound and you may find him. James just got a turtle. But he's indoors. When we have taken him outside, boy that turtle moves FAST! I hope you find Doobie! Look for those mounds!!!

I'm soooo sorry! He's there somewhere close by and I'll bet he'll show up soon. You're not cursed! You've had Grant and Baxter and Pigbird for years! We had a car accident with our little collie and 4 little baby kitties and 2 puppies that didn't make it for some unknown reason. Unfortunately it happens. You're a wonderful pet mamma!! Don't give up.
