Stephenson Family Ties The Barn Burnt Down
And Now I See The Moon
What man actually needs is not a
tensionless state but rather the
striving and struggling for some
goal worthy of him. What he needs
is not the discharge of tension at
any cost, but the call of a
potential meaning waiting to be
fulfilled by him.

Its NOT about the uniform-- we had to borrow this one!!
ITs NOT about the merit badges--though he did enjoy achieving some of them.
It WASNT about me, his mom--I was really no help at all!! He did this!! (with some help from his dad)
-you know the old adage-"Mom earned this one." NOT ME!!
It WASNT about fabulous scout leaders--Im quite sure that there had to be a few. But in the end, it WAS about a good friend and new scout chairman, that took the reins and made things happen. THanks ever so much Sue!!!
It WASNT about sibling pressure--Bri is our very first Eagle Scout!!

So What Was it About???
In a way Im really not sure.
But I do know that Bri-dog isnt afraid of doing hard things. He doenst mind a challenge.
I know that campouts were the highlight of the scouting program for him.
I know that he's enjoying a sense of satisfaction in being the first and only one in the family to achieve such a noble award.
I know that he 'gets it', and that an Eagle award is a very good thing to have on a resume!
I know that good friends and family were encouraging and that he didnt mind a little bit of friendly peer pressure. (thanks Blake and co.)
I know he gets a sense of satisfaction in a job well done--just like his dad.

So... my hearty congratulations go out to our Brian!!! Well done thou good and faithful son!!!
What I Know:
Bri is now in control of his future!!
It looks bright to me!!!

Way to go, Brian!! That's just wonderful! I love Scouts and all that it represents. You are a great example of those qualities, but would be without the Eagle, too. Congrats! Love you!

And I hit "enter" before I added CONGRATS! to Brian (but I still want to know what his project was - we need all the ideas we can get for James' project!!)
