I hope Cindy doesn't get after me for moonlighting on her blog. . . . . But I had to get on here and say some words about this great American family.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Justus Seeley, and I'm staying here with the Stephensons while I go to college. My family moved away to Idaho and left me here to wander the streets. Luckily for me Bob & Cindy found me and brought me into their home.
You know what the first thing Cindy fed me was? A quesadilla. As soon as my teeth plunged into that soft flour tortilla, my tongue greeting a delicious layer of pure cheesiness, I knew that I was here to stay.
On a side note, I'm not done talking about how wonderful the Stephensons are. . . . But they are creative when it comes to their eating methods. Who taught Bob to put strawberry yogurt on his pancakes? Anyone that can answer this great life mystery feel free to call us at 435-674-9184. I don't know if this is something he picked up in his youth or what.
Let's start with Bob since I've already started picking on him. What a great man. What a PATIENT MAN! Honestly. I could step on his foot, make him drop his glasses, and then break his glasses and he would apologize for leaving his foot in the way. He's got a gift I must say. He doesn't like double-dipping though. He caught me doing that with some chips and salsa. He caught me doing something else too . . . . . Oh yeah. I was licking his peanut butter knife. He hates that. He always likes to leave ONE peanut butter knife out for the peanut butter. Well, I like to use a peanut butter knife and then lick it thoroughly, and then throw it in the sink. He doesn't like me doing that, but I think secretly he wants to do the same.
Then there's Cindy. Need I say more. She's been like a second mom to me. She even made me a lunch to take to work one day! Now that's going above and beyond the call of duty. I should be making her lunch. She takes good care of me.
You know something else about this good woman? She can move her body. If you havn't experienced the sight of Cindy dancing to country music in her kitchen it's something to behold. It makes me jealous. I wish I could dance like that. She gets the hips going, and the rest of the body just flows. Anna was in the kitchen with her the other day and they got into a "hip war" with each woman trying to out-duel the other with her hips. Needless to Cindy won the war. "I have the weight advantage babe." Cindy told Anna with attitude.
Then there's Lynley. Cindy's cousin. Lynley is an awesome person. She plays piano, dresses like a movie star, and has a great sense of humor. She also has a voice that sounds just ike Cindy's. Which can be interesting when you're talking to one of them on the phone and you don't know whether to call them Lyndley or Cindy. If that happens to you, just go with Mrs. Sharp to play it safe.
Then there's Anna Stephenson. The returned missionary. What a cool girl to be around. She knows her scriptures, she knows how to make cookies, and she knows how to have fun. Those my friends, are the 3 main ingredients to a great young woman. It's only a matter of time before some dude comes through the door and sweeps her off her feet.
Then there's Brian. Sweet, sincere Brian. Brian is at the age where he lets you know exactly how he feels about you. "Brian. Get UP. We got church." I told him in kind terms one Sunday morning. "UHHH." Brian replied lovingly while covering his face with his blanket. Jokes aside, Brian is an awesome kid. We've gotten to be good friends.
I answered the phone the other day. . . and it was Bob's sister Sharon. "Hey Justus, it's your aunt Sharon. Is Bob there?" I love that! Royalty get treated less than I do with the Stephenson family. I just want to shout out to all the Stephenson and Sharp families and say THANK YOU. Thank you for making me feel like part of your family. This blog post is for all those with the last name of Sharp or Stephenson. YOU ARE AWESOME! I know that isn't the most poetic way to put it, but in teenage jargon that means YOU ARE WONDERFUL! Feel proud to be a Sharp or Stephenson, because that means you're awesome because you make others feel great about themselves.
In conclusion, I just want to say thank you to the Stephenson's for letting me stay in their home. I've felt a great deal of love since I've been here and I hope that I can make it up to them someday. Until then, Bob's just going to have to live with me licking the peanut butter knife.
