The tale of heroism runs true
from Valley Forge to Gettysburg,
from the Argonne to Guadalcanal.
How is it possible to select one and
and say of him: He is the bravest
of all?
American Hero
by Mary West Jorgensen
I have found a most enlightening stimuli for us all!!
Who knew what was or was not included in the list of duties of the Vice President of the United States?
Who really appreciates the few hours it now takes to cross the ocean in a luxurious plane?
Who really remembers the different philosophies behind a Republican and a Federalist (Democrat)?
Who appreciates their dentist?
Who remembers when corruption in politics first began? (how about 1786?!?)
Who appreciates the smallpox vaccine?
Who appreciates the sacrifices of our Founding Fathers, and their families?
If you have forgotten some of these things; if you find that you dont have a full appreciation for early American history; this is the perfect re-introduction for you!! For all of us!!! I promise it wont disappoint.
The few hours spent watching this series has given me pause-especially at this election time-to reflect on how this great country's' roots first took hold. What is all the bickering about? (there seems to have always been bickering!) What are our intentions and motivations for our country-these the United States of America?!
It truly is a privilege and a great responsibility living within our boarders.
WHERE MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS EXPECTED!!
