Stephenson Family Ties The Barn Burnt Down
And Now I See The Moon

You may be getting bored of hearing news about our missionaries....but oh well, to bad for you!!
At 6:15 pm last night the phone rang again, and it was in my lap, so I answered it. A nice woman introduced herself, saying that she was calling from the mission home in Santiago Chile. She was calling to let us know that our son had arrived safely to the mission. She then proceed to outline his day from his point of arrival.
He was met at the airport in the morning by his mission president, President Moran. Clark and 9 other missionaries were then taken to the mission home for an almerzo, which translates to-a large middle day lunch;the big meal of the day. Then the missionaries had some training and a short interview, and then it was off to meet their trainer/companion. They had their pictures taken and were introduced to their sector. And then they began their work!!!
Oh mY!!
My poor boy didnt sleep a wink on that long plane ride in. I can bet on that. So he probably had the very longest day of his life yesterday!! But I bet he slept GREAT last night!!
His P-day will be on Mondays. We just cant wait for that first email telling us how he's feeling and how he thought the first days went. Its fun hearing those first impressions!!!
Go Elder Clark!!!

It is so fun to hear about and from the missionary sons and daughters. They are amazing! This is a cute picture of Elder Clark. What a fun boy/man.

can i just say it's so interesting to be on this end of the missionary service? i mean, i grew up always having at least two sets in my wards, sometimes three.

they always sort of freaked me out b/c of their "aura" of perfection. now i knew they weren't perfect, but still, missionaries = untouchables in my mind. still do, sort of.

but to see the transformation of elder clark from sort of wish-washy apathetic to hyper-stoked and excited, i just revel in the spirit all over again.

the gospel is amazing, and the power the spirit has to re-introduce us to it has always fascinated me.

being here has been a very eye-opening experience in so many ways, but mostly in the awesomeness of the gospel, especially seeing it in your home.

thanks for having me (and all of my junk).
