Hiking with Cub Scouts on Owens Loop

It was a beautiful morning for a hike!!
The cub master called the other day, and asked if I'd take some scouts on a hike? Heck yea!!

I for one appreciated the overcast skies! Not quite so HOT!

A couple of the boys had the good fortune of spotting a coyote crossing the path-this it luck indeed!!

It was a trip hiking with little boys, as compared to grown-ups, or even young girls. I'd almost forgotten what little boys are made of....their talk was of turtle poop, and scary stories, and who could throw a rock the farthest. Everything was 'dude' this and 'dude' that. It was very humorous, and I found myself smiling the whole way as I eves dropped on their conversations. Hobos lived under every out cropping. Lizards were hunted with zeal!! Many of them shared stories of their misadventures on camping trips with their dads and family.
I'll take any excuse for a hike. I wonder who'll call next?
