myself in my room in hopes that I won't contaminate the rest of my vassals that live here as well. There's nothing positive about being ill-duh, but in looking for the silver lining, and I think I found one. Two to be exact!! My sweet cuz, Lynley, has a horde of movies in her personal library which she permitted me to use. So as I lay in bed, going through 3 rolls of toilet paper and 1 box of Kleenex and drinking as much fluid as I could stand, and escaped!! And I escaped good!!! Oh my, can 4 hours fly by when your in the company of grand stories and marvelous actresses and actors.I have no idea how many versions of JANE EYRE have been produced? (anyone's free to guess) There are quite a few to be sure. Yesterday I was introduced to the very, very best of them!! Thank you Masterpiece Theater for this beautiful, artful, production. I was enraptured from the very first moment as young Jane imagined herself in the center of the resplendent Sahara Desert. I almost completely forgot my splitting headache and throbbing sinuses. Yeah!!!
Then today...I once again rummaged through Lynleys collection and picked out a mini-series called NORTH AND SOUTH. Lynley highly recommended it, and I was game 'cause I trust her implicitly. I put the movie into my laptop and snuggled down for another escape. It turns out it was just that and much, much more

I was expecting a civil war drama. Turned out not to be so. "South" was southern England, down in the country. "North" was up in the dark, cold, gray city. Never shall the two meet, without discord. My, my what a glorious tale! I was swept away completely. I cried and I smiled and my heart broke and was healed. It's stories like these that film was devised. You will soon find this movie at the top of my 'favorites' list.
(this one is for you Lynley!!) Besides filling my head with movies while languishing in bed these last few days, I did also read. I read through at least 100 pages of the book I started a week ago.
The HOST has turned very interesting indeed. It started out quite slow for me- but once I reached chapter 13, it became the page turner that I wanted it to be.
So though I would much rather be feeling healthy and out hiking and working in the yard..at least I was entertained quite well and so was not feeling too sorry for myself. (Im not a very good sick person -I shut down and am not very good to anybody. ) The worst is over to be sure!! I do best if I can hole away for a time and lick my wounds and do nothing. I seem to recover quicker this way. I thank my family for their patience. I pray that I didnt contaminate anyone along the way!!

i hope you feel better soon, cindy!!!
I'm glad you liked the host. It was a little weird for me at first, but I liked it too. I think Mrs. Meyer has a very good way of making the reader feel the emotion of her stories.
As for the movies, I'm going to netflix.com right now to see if they have those. They look really good. I've seen Jane Eyre from A&E, and LOVE the story.
Ooops, and I hope you are finally feeling better!
Oooh yeah! they have them both and North and South is on watch instantly!
Haven't been here in a few days, but after talking to you decided to catch up on your blog. I'm so sorry you are so sick! You are generally healthy as a horse! But now I'm even more excited for Jane Eyre to come - it was on my list already - and I'm adding North and South ASAP! And okay - I'll go get the Host (or borrow it from Jenny). It just didn't sound interesting to me, but now I'll give it a go!
Get better friend!
I hope that you are feeling better! I just borrowed both those movies and I can't thank you enough for the reccomendation. They were so fun! I am such a sucker for those types of movies. Jane Eyre really was the best. If you have any other movies you like, let me know!
Woops, just saw the list of your favorite movies on the side of your blog. I'll be sure to take not of them. Thanks
Duh, I meant I will take note of them. Sorry to fill up your inbox with these dumb comments. Hopefully I am distracting you at a Pepsi craving time.
