I guess its really no secret that Im usually NOT the one to jump on the spiritual aspect of things, much to Builder Bobs shagrin. One of the reasons this particular date for the get-together was chosen was that these ladies knew about the Easter Pagenent that is put on by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the Mesa Temple. I on the other hand was just thrilled to be invited and to take a trip. Being spiritually fed would just be a bonus and not necessaryily sought after by a slug like me. Then...as fate would have it, and I being one to fully believe that NOTHING happens by accident, I "stumbled" upon something wonderful!! Now the whole "pagenent thing" has been bumped to the top of the list of things to do while in Mesa! (though I do hope a hike in the desert can be included as well as major poolside visiting and some shopping maybe)Besides the powerful effect music has always had on my soul in its ability to bear witness to my heart of my Saviors love, I'd have to say that the next best medium that touches me deeply, almost every time, would have to be art. Great painters and sculptors and even photographers have abilities to move me in ways that seem impossible. When artists focus on the Savior I am often elevated and feel a witness of the truthfulness of His life and ministry. So... back to 'fate' playing in my life- I was reading some wonderful blogs and came to learn about an art show that will be done in conjunction with the Pagenent! I guess its new this year. After having seen the links that I have included here for all to see- I feel sure that we'll include this great activity in our 'lady days.'
If I had the means and the wall space (mostly the means) I would cover my home with this type of glorious, inspired work! This first link is about the artist-MARK MABRY, and about how he struggled to get the right effect of the Savior walking on water! I know you'll enjoy this insight to the workings of an artist. In this little 4 minute clip--that I watched as I sat at my messy kitchen counter- I had the Spirit whisper to me and move me to tears. There is power in truth!
There is also this link to the same artist about his attempts to catch angels flying!! Its wonderful!!(scroll down to Jan 1-Where I've Been, and watch the video) It made me smile!! There is true joy captured in this work. The testimony he can bear through his 'gifts' is inspiring to say the very least.
If I dont take every opportunity to feed my soul with the things that are out there in this world that were created for this intent, I know I will be found lacking in the end.
Once again I find myself sending out into the cosmos my humblest gratitude for the people, ie. artists, who inspire and uplift and help us transend the world of woe and show us a way to get a glimpse of the bigger more important picture.
And, I am thanking these ladies that I love so much- well ahead of time, for the opportunities they extend to me and the feeling of inclusion in your club of sisterhood.

Please please please please - when you go to the art show, if there is a print of the angels flying, call me and tell me! If you can buy me one I would love it. That clip about how he created that picture was marvelous! Oh are you so lucky - (on all counts - sisters, trip, sunshine) but how fun to be able to see this artwork!
Very cool artwork. His video about making the angels fly was very cool. How fun that you'll be there the same time he'll be and see his artwork. Have a blast!
So looking forward to seeing you very soon and spending time with all my sisters. Love ya!
Thank you for that picture of my mom and her sisters! I had never seen it before and loved adding it to my treasure trove of memorable pictures!
Have a fun trip!
