I've been fanaticizing in my mind, some summer adventures I'd like to have. I hope to make them a reality.
Builder Bob is going to be strapped down and hog-tied to the Sojourn project this summer. Which leaves me feeling extremely restless. Im looking for inspiration and company and partners in crime!!
Im firmly of the school of thought that if you make a wish and throw it out there for the world to hear, something wonderful is bound to happen.
Here is what is playing in my head right now.
Desire #1 for the sumer of 2008:
Cirque of the Towers in Wind River Wy.

I've just begun my research on this incredible place. My cute missionary nephew, Benjamin, told me all about this hike the last time he was here visiting. He highly recommended that I go and see this place for myself!! I think he's right!!

As far as I can tell, its a 9 mile hike in to the center of the 'towers.'
Initially I was thinking that it could be done in one LONG day...? Not so sure now if that is really feasible.
Concerns:
*BUGS!
Everyone comments on the bloodsucking, vicious mosquitos! ACKK!
*TIMING:
Earlier than June is too cold and still snowy.
July through August is AMAZING for the wildflowers. But the bugs will get their revenge!
Sept is highly recommended, but there is the risk of thunderstorms and rain bursts.
*CAMPING:
Not a huge fan of camping-ever. Especially when camp gear will have to be carried on ones back.ugh! (In the past I have reserved this "privledge" for Havasupi alone.)
Note to self- there is a Lodge nearby. Big Sandy Lodge, which sounds so appealing to me.
So...any interest? any comments? any input or experiece with this glorious place?
another note to self- I may resign myself to camping ONE night. In order to experience this grand landscape. (My ansestors would shutter at what a whimp I am!!)
Next Destination
Havasupi, Az.
Im leaning towards returning to this magical place anytime in July.
I LOVE this place. Its enough of a challenge to "hear me roar" but wont actually KILL me in the process.
Any takers?
Destination #3-
A BEACH!!!
The California girl in me is SCREAMING for the ocean! At this point Im not picky!
I need waves, sand in irksome places, and sunshine galore. A beach umbrella and a chaise lounge will seal the deal!!! Any beach will do! Anyone have any connections?

Any takers?
Where and when is a good time and place?
Destination #4?-
I'll go anywhere!!
I'd love one more adventure to make my summer complete. I do have to be a little
selective not to go and do something that Builder Bob would feel left out of or have regrets for not tagging along.Where would be a fun place for ladies to get away? A place where there is no real appeal for men? (or at least my man)
-what mountain needs to be climbed?
-what cheese cake needs to be devoured?
-where's the coolest place to get a pedicure?
-what lonely landscape needs to be pondered and discussed by the female species?
-What mega metropolis needs more ladies to have visit it?
_Where have YOU wanted to visit and just havent--YET??!!
Lets make things HAPPEN lady friends!!
Are we having Fun yet!? Heck yes!! Now we'll start gathering links:
Wind River
Cirque of the Towers
Country Music Fest

I would love to see the WY towers! It reminds me of somewhere foreign. I want to go to the ZOO this summer, like maybe one in California?! Take along bubby of course to see all the animals! Hey, there's a beach there....we could bask in the sun!
I'm going to put on my thinking cap....
I think we need to take a girls trip to California...that's my vote!
you go girls, the juices are flowin and I like what Im hearing!!
Here's my two-cents...
Make sure you ladies are available the second week of July. My tentative plan is to be in St. George from July 5-15th. The trip wouldn't be complete without you!!
I'm also totally serious about inviting you guys out to our place for the CMA Music Festival (June 5-8, 2008) or any time! The Music Festival is definitely not something Will would be interested in so maybe it wouldn't hurt Bob's feelings to be home for that trip.
Nashville has tons of things to see: Tourist stuff ie. country music stars' homes, Country Music Hall of Fame, hiking, rivers, lakes, beautiful plantations, zoo! I'll find more if that doesn't catch your interest. April, May and early June are beautiful times to be here. It starts to get HOT/HUMID later!
Oh, and I'll be at the beach with you in my imagination. That sounds heavenly!
It looks so fun and I don't think I would have the guts to go alone! No pressure, but it would be great for a bunch of girls. There are free activities and you can also buy tickets for a four day pass. Check out the link:

OF COURSE I vote for the beach. I'm all over that idea! And Dave has been to Cirque of the Towers - at least to the Wind Rivers area and said it's gorgeous - and the bugs are only bad certain times of the year. If you want to do that one, maybe we could go (Dave and me and James and you and whoever). And I would be up to the Lodge myself.
I'm most definitely voting for a beach trip - and if it's not south america somewhere, but more like CA beaches, I could say we could make it a girls trip (then MY hubby won't be too jealous). Boy is the wanderlust flowing through me!!!
Judy, Im going to have to talk to Dave this next weekend, about the "Towers." I just dont know enough yet. California is sounding rather promising.
Cody and I might be up for a trip to WY to see the towers!!! Let's talk!!
