Poor Brian

Brian was anticipating the beginning of snowboarding season with such glee!!! He headed up to Brian Head yesterday with such excitement and gratitude. He was going to spend the day with buddy Blake and his big brother Robby on the snowy slopes. Then catastrophe stuck. Now he's home with a broken collar bone. These Stephenson boys of mine know how to abuse those clavicle bones. Poor Brian will now be out for most of the season, repairing. bummer

He's here kind of feeling sorry for himself. but who can blame him. It hurts too!!! Oh well, hopefully we'll have plenty of snow this year and he'll try again in Feb. Missing school for a couple of days is going to 'hurt' too. double dang

I think rob or joe broke theirs also. Anna did her's on the tramp. I guess they all inherited weak collar bones.

If I remember correctly, I believe that Anna broke her clavical on a Big Wheel in front of the Ehlerts. Her dressed got caught in the wheel and took her DOWN!! You just hate it when your kids get hurt!!

Poor guy - he needs a hot tub, good movie, and some treats! And a couple of days off of school with NO GUILT and lenient teachers!

My nephew - the most accident prone child I have EVER known - was snowboarding last year, was at the end of the run on the basically flat part, at an almost dead standstill, caught a little "bump" or something and just fell over and BAM - broke his clavicle so severely they had to do surgery to repair it. They've had this kid tested for bone disease, weakness, etc. because he ALWAYS breaks something (in spite of the fact he is a really GREAT and talented snowboarder). Seems clavicle injuries are the most common amongst the snowboarding set…and apparently amongst anyone with the last name Stephenson!

Last time I was on the slopes I wiped out going down a slope too steep for my skill level (I was actually with your brother Cindy – I called Dave to find out WHY I was with Joe and where he was – he says it was me and Joe and my sister Sharon and a single friend of Joe’s. It was a “blind date” for them – and bless his heart Dave stayed home and watched the kids. I don’t remember all of that just the part that I was on a slope with Joe and it was too technical for me!) I started down the slope with a very patient Joe, but then did one of those comic falls - you know, head over heels over head over heels....rang my bell pretty good so I sat the rest of the day out. Last time I went skiing too! In my next life I'll take it up again!

I bet you, on the other hand, will never grace the side of a mountain that has snow on it!

We have lots here – and I’m happy for it – makes for a beautiful white Christmas time!
