is for Xero.
dryness;dry; xeroderma
Ask all the experts and they'll all tell you- the secret is to moisturize!!
for a desert to bloom
for a face to ward off wrinkles
for hands and feet to stay soft and smooth
for lips to remain kissable
for writers to keep the 'juices' flowing
for a dry throat-drink
JUST ADD WATER!!!
Understand,Im not spending a great deal of energy searching for the fountain of youth in hopes that it could ward of my tendancy towards age spots and wrinkles and the development of pronounced veins. And I know that there is no miracle drink to cure what ails me or that will give me unlimited energy. (though Pepsi seems to fill the bill sometimes)
We can always find 'experts' that will tell us there is good cause to spend our money on their products, that promise to rejuvneate our bodies.
But what I really need and what this world really needs too, is more longing for the happiness and contentment and peace that only Jesus can bring. "But who so ever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.." This is where success and fulfilment are really found. It is here that we can quench the everpresent longing for things that are not of this world. Perfection of our souls can only be found at the well of living waters. The world is parched; which is manifested in the yearning we see around us for 'something more.' I am happy to report that there is an 'expert'among us!! It is our Savior, who has been called the wellspring of life everlasting! It is our Savior who said- "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink!!" (and thirst no more)
This is the water I should be longing for. This 'living water' that truely can refresh us all and enliven our minds and souls. I'd like to be more than just 'skin deep. My outward body my be drying up and loosing shape and form, no matter how much moisture I apply. But I know that if I spend more time at the 'spring' of my Savior, then I will find rivers of living water that are filled with truth and light and peace which can be found in no other place.
To heck with the wrinkles! (gulp) Im going to try to spend more energy in filling my cup with the real life giving water. Searching for more truth and light and knowledge that my loving Heavenly Father and Jesus have promised me I can have, if I but ask and expend the energy in that direction. So- a little less time at the cosmetics counter, a little more time for study and prayer.

(this whole post has come off sounding a little like a new years resolution? how about that?)
