And Now I See The Moon

Journaling

I've got the key to my castle in the air, but whether
I can unlock the door remains to be seen.

I spent a few lovely days up north with My Builder and my sweet daughter and her hubby. It was really quite an eventful, fun packed week- now that Im caused to reflect back on it.
We drove up late Monday night- with every intention of waking up early the next morning to go and pick up Clark at the airport. He had spent days trying to get home on stand-by...and he spent yet another day --for he didnt make it that morning either. Our hopes were dashed!!
Instead, we drowned our sorrows with a quick bowl of Cheerios at the Ehlerts, and enjoyed a nice visit with Cathy before heading further north to stay with Anna and David in Logan.
Can I just say- Logan is glorious in July and August...its just perfect!!! (Anna and I commented to one another on an evening bike ride, that we could feel autumn in the air...already!!!) Thats a sad state of affairs.
I think my main reason for going north was to see with my own eyes the 'supposed' belly bump that my daughter was adamantly declaring was there!!! I just had to see for myself!!!

And....
ta dah!!
It is there!!
It truly is!!
Its adorable...
And oddly enough the sight of it has left me a little speechless. (I think she noticed.) Im having a strange reaction to having a pregnant daughter.
First there was the major adjustment to having David steal her heart and her attention.
Now we have this new little being changing everything again.
My best girlfriend is now even more distracted!   I'll  have to get used to this.
Of course I know that these distractions are beautiful and purposeful and as they should be.
Mostly my reactions have to do with getting OLD!!!
Oh well...time marches on and its a great march indeed.
My Builder is building like crazy!! With his trusty, brillant partner and son-in-law, David, we are now only days away from pellet production!! And as it is with all l new ventures....it takes 10 times longer than expected to get a new business off the ground!!
Patience Cindy--PATIENCE!!
All good tthings take time...whether its 9 months or 1 1/2 years!! It will be worth the wait!!

To finish up the week- in a nutshell:
After those few wonderful days in Logan, it became obvious that I needed to get home. I had a 'super hike' to guide on Sat., and my pestering and near nagging My Builder with questions...sent me on my way. Im honest when I say...Im positive that they were all relieved to see me go. I pushed too hard...in my impatience. So My dear Builder put me on a train on Thurs. and I headed in great comfort to Salt Lake, riding the slick Frontrunner commuter train. What a great way to travel!!!
The icing on the cake...
was my brother picking me up at the SL station! We had a few hours to "catch up" before my travel weary Clark came to get me at their home. It was a treat to see Josh and Debbie and Amber...and to hear them pick Clarks brain for his African adventures.

That evening we enjoyed a tasty Thai dinner with my very best friend Judy!! Listening to more of Clarks stories of Africa was the perfect desert!!
I topped the day off by going to bed late in Clarks BYU apartment-and rose to pack the car with all his earthly possessions (which aint much) and headed home to beloved St George!!
Whew what a week!
I am grateful for every minute of it!!

ps- the 1st week in Sept will tell us what the little bump will be--either a bun or a bunette!!

It doesn't even look that big! You should see it now! I swear that thing (boy or girl) triples in size every night! :) Love you mom!

Wow! What a weekend! I wish I could have heard Clark, too. Can't wait to hear about the babe and I'm so impressed, but not surprised at your hard working men! It's going to be wildly successful!!
